In this edition, the Northwestern News staff tell the stories of Northwestern’s coaches and athletes, who aren’t able to compete this semester because of the coronavirus pandemic. We’ve told their stories in a special report titled “COPING WITH COVID: FINDING HOPE.” We saw the need for this coverage when the school year began. With athletic seasons canceled, we wanted to find out how coaches were keeping athletes motivated without being able to play sports — and how student athletes are responding to the loss of their seasons. This project took a lot of work: interviewing, writing, photographing, editing, and designing. In this edition, I designed and edited pages 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 11, and 12.
